"Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a non-same-sex marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow."

Because that whole concept is nuts. I can't even imagine *how* it could hurt it.

    Hmm :o)

Your result for The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test...

    Outcast Genius

    87 % Nerd, 57% Geek, 52% Dork

    For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.

Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).

Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.

    Congratulations!

Thanks Again! -- THE NERD? GEEK? OR DORK? TEST

    Food Meme from [info]ghoti
Here's a list of food. Ones I've eaten are bolded, ones I wouldn't eat are struck through, and ones I've eaten and wouldn't again, both. The rest are foods you should make an effort to feed me :)

    Writer's Block: Six-Word Story

Hemingway was once challenged to write a story in only six words. His response? “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” He is believed to have called it his greatest literary work ever. Can you write a story in six words?

I know there are a few David Tennant fans out there...

I thought some of you might be interested in knowing that a DVD of his breakthrough TV role in 'Takin' Over the Asylum' will be released next Monday.

Well worth watching (IMHO) whether you're a DT fan or not, frankly.

    That film meme
Everybody else is doing it, so why can't I?

    Meme rules:
    1. Pick 15 of your favourite movies.
    2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
    3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
    4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed.
    5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions. Totally cheating, you dirty cheaters.

    2. Father finished college.

    3. Mother went to college.
    4. Mother finished college.
    5. Have any relative who is an attorney, physician, or professor.

    7. Had more than 50 books in your childhood home.
    8. Had more than 500 books in your childhood home. Wouldn't surprise me. My dad is a compulsive hoarder and we had an attic.

Assuming you count a brief go at pre-school ballet.
    11. Had more than two kinds of lessons before you turned 18.
    12. The people in the media who dress and talk like me are portrayed positively. As per Eldar, "Nobody in the media dresses or talks like me. That's why they're in the media and I'm not."
    13. Had a credit card with your name on it before you turned 18.
    14. Your parents (or a trust) paid for the majority of your college costs. Full grant, student loan, bank loan/overdraft. The occasional bail out from my folks.

    17. Went to summer camp.
    18. Had a private tutor before you turned 18.
    19. Family vacations involved staying at hotels. Not usually, though it did happen occasionally. It was generally some kind of self-catering.
    21. Your parents bought you a car that was not a hand-me-down from them. I've never owned a car.
    22. There was original art in your house when you were a child. Not unless you count my own drawings.
    23. You and your family lived in a single-family house.

    24. Your parent(s) owned their own house or apartment before you left home. Well, they had a mortgage.
    25. You had your own room as a child. Yeah, I was an only child until I was 10.
    26. You had a phone in your room before you turned 18. My father foolishly agreed to this, and regretted it!
    28. Had your own TV in your room in high school. A little one for the Vic 20.
